Pizza Bites

Pizza Bites 1

This is an adaptation of a recipe from The Pioneer Woman that I saw on The Food Network the other day.  I am planning an hors d’oeuvres get together for some time in early summer and thought these bite size pizzas would be a good addition.  Ree’s recipe is made with puff pastry.  I had a round of my favorite pizza dough in the freezer and decided to use that instead.

Pizza Bites

It was quite easy to roll out the pizza dough, cut it into small circles and top it with basil pesto, Roma tomato rounds, and Parmesan cheese.  I baked the rounds on a pizza stone in a hot (400 – 450 degree) oven for about 20 minutes.  Or you can follow The Pioneer Woman’s Recipe using puff pastry.

Paris Apartment

We are excited about an upcoming trip to Paris in the Fall.  I have found this charming apartment in The Latin Quarter to rent for a week.  Will let you know more as plans come together.  If anyone has recommendations for restaurants in the 5th Arrondissement I would appreciate it.

hey Penny – we are heading to Paris the first week in October- then off to Dijon for some wine and visit with friends who are renting a place there- would we be overlapping?? I think it would be a hoot if we met in person in Paris!!!

Madonna, Thanks for the links. I am aware of Sharon Santoni but have not visited in a while. Will also check out paris breakfasts. I am feeling very lucky right now. As we get older it gets harder to travel the world. Should have started out young. But age will not stop me. LOL.

My daughter lived in Paris for 7 years and has kept an updated list of her favorites. It’s in Word form. If you want me to email it to you, let me know.
Thanks for your kind words on my “retirement”….glad we’ll connect via Instagram. I don’t want to lose my favorite people!

What a great idea for an appetizer party, Penny! I’m sure they will be very popular with your guests 🙂 Wow, that’s a beautiful apartment! You may not want to leave!

I agree Susan. We are spending the first week on a Viking Cruise of The Rhone from Avignon to Lyon. But Paris is all just us. Love the ability to do our own thing.

  8. Penny, those little pizza bites are perfect to enjoy with cocktails when entertaining. Love the apartment you decided on, it looks charming. I know you have to be so excited about your trip this fall.

I am spending lots of time on the internet for our trip. I know the 7th Arrondissement pretty well, but not the Latin Quarter.
