I have been kind of missing in action lately. We had a major event at our house. We have friends in Florida who have a talented singing group called Malt Shoppe Memories. To give you a little background, our friend Arnie used to sing doo-wop on the street corners of Brooklyn as a teenager. Music has always been a part of his life. Now he has partnered with other talented guys who sing oldies from the fifties, sixties, and seventies. They came to Lake Lure from Florida and perfomed a concert on the top of our boathouse last weekend for us and anyone who could get here by boat. We had 30 people in the house and many more viewing the concert from their boats. Arnie and Maxine were with an RV group so all of the members brought food for a potluck dinner. I cooked nothing! I had fun! I danced! View the clip of some of the music here. Thank you Malt Shoppe Memories for a trip down memory lane. Enjoy! P.S. Arnie is the cute bald guy.
What a very neat video, Penny. I really enjoyed the song. Your boathouse looks like a fun place to gather. Don’t you love living on the lake? I look forward to the time that we retire at ours!

Such a great way to spend a day!!
Sounds like an awesome fun time!!
How fun Penny and what talent. And…you didn’t have to cook a thing? It can’t get any better than that.

What a wonderful thing—a private concert and a smashing evening!!
And to have these talented guys at your beck—beyond cool.
Now appearing at a boathouse roof near you . . .
Reminds me of an afternoon inner-tubing down the Guadelupe—we floated past a huge lawn with a party going on, so we made sort of a logjam. Each person coming by would hook a foot in the next tube, and we had “ring” side seats for a wonderful concert!
Heavens! What fun…….you guys really know how to live!!!
You commented on going to beach music in Greensboro and that is where I live. The college is UNC-Charlotte. Thanks for visiting. Please come back again. Love & blessings from NC!
